Common Ground Nature Camp

Entering GradES K-5
Location: Dowling

Students entering grades K-5 are invited to join Common Ground for an active, nature-centered summer camp at Dowling Elementary School! Rooted in community and a sense of belonging, the 7-week camp will explore our shared urban backyard through science, art, storytelling and weekly guided adventures. Students will gain confidence in moving through our world with lessons in social consciousness, environmental stewardship and even water safety! 

Free Meals: Lunch and afternoon snack will be provided for all students.

Natural Leaders

Entering Grades 1-9
Location: Whittier

Natural Leaders is a summer-long camp based at Whittier International Elementary School for students entering 1st through 9th grades. Campers discover and protect natural habitats, explore Minneapolis by bicycle, paddle canoes and kayaks, plant gardens, create art, play sports and celebrate the many cultures of our community. Campers must commit to attending the entire summer. 

Free Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all students.

Transportation 612-668-2300: 
Transportation by school bus is available to eligible students.

American Indian Scholars

Entering Grades 1-9
Location: Seward

Rooted in culturally responsive teaching and enriched with Dakota and Ojibwe language, this 7-week summer camp welcomes American Indian scholars to grow their literacy skills and learn what it means to be good relatives to one another. Students can look forward to engaging experiences, including regular field trips, visits from community members and family nights; as well as arts, sports and other activities that celebrate our heritage and community.

Líderes Bilingües: Verano de Aprendizaje y Aventura

Entering Grados 1-6
Location: Whittier

Líderes Bilingües: Verano de Aprendizaje y Aventura es un programa divertido de verano para estudiantes hispanohablantes entrando a 1ro - 6to grados. El programa está diseñado para promover el enriquecimiento de la literatura en español e inglés y a la vez celebrar la identidad cultural. El programa incluye actividades como música, artes, juegos al aire libre, deportes y manualidades. Líderes Bilingües ofrece una experiencia inolvidable de siete semanas durante el verano. Esta oportunidad de aprendizaje de verano está disponible para estudiantes de Minneapolis Public Schools.
