NEW registration process for School Year 2026-27

The process to register for the 30-hour classroom instruction has changed, and registration should now be completed directly on our partners’ websites. This update allows students more options and the ability to enroll in a package of classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. 

Classes take place after school for 3 hours a day, over 10 days during the school year. Class sessions are open to students at the schools hosting classes, listed below.

Follow these steps to get your license:

  1. Enroll and complete a 30-hour Driver Education class.
  2. Purchase 6 hours of Behind-the-wheel (BTW) lessons to receive your Blue Card.
  3. Use your Blue Card to take the permit test at a Driver & Vehicle Services (DVS) location.
  4. Meet all of the following requirements:
    1. Complete 6 hours of BTW lessons 
    2. Complete 40-50 hours of supervised driving 
    3. Have your permit for at least 6 months 
    4. Be at least 16 years old
  5. Take the license test at a DVS location.
